Tired of trying. I put effort into everything i do but when i get nothing back i get super frustrated..so im done trying with certain circumstances. This may be over reacting but its just how i feel. so until i feel like im appreciated or whatever im done with it. I just saw The Wackness. This movie is fuckin sick. It takes place in NYC, NY in '94, just around the time the golden age of East Coast Hip-Hop was starting. It's about every male high school graduate. The attitude where it's like fuck your parents, fuck girls, and just fuck the world. To me I was definately a fan of this movie because of the setting and soundtrack. It's '94, The WU, NaS, & Biggie are just killing the airwaves. And this movie does a great job of taking the songs of the time and placing it in scenes that fit it. To me this era, shits on ours. All the shit we call classic was coming out during this time. How I would love to be around when people would say, "Did you hear about that new MC, The Notorious BIG?" It wasn't about money or making up stupid dances. It was about the music. If you're a fan of Hip-Hop, you have to watch this movie. Please do, just to give respect to the golden era.

Here is a clip of the movie, Where the Wild Things Are. If you're not excited about this movie, you didn't have a childhood. This was a right of passage to growing by reading this book. And now Spike Jonez is directing the film. I'm pretty much can't wait for this. But rumors are it is dark and Warner Bros. was not really happy that it is. They are saying they might re-shoot it. In a way I think the movie should be dark. I can't really see this movie being all light and happy. Iono just my opinon. Drop some comments about it.

The philosophy of streetwear shops is simple: Be exclusive. Be hard to find. And for the love of the brands, stay small. So when a new streetwear megastore called Attic was about to open, insiders scoffed.”Who are these guys?” they asked.
James Yang, the store’s co-founder, heard it all. “Nobody likes to be a new guy in a cool guy industry,” the 26-year-old entrepreneur says, standing in the middle of his 8,000-square-foot location in Buena Park, Calif. “When we first opened, some people were like, oh, this is the Wal-Mart of streetwear. We were paying our dues, like in a fraternity.”But then people discovered the goods. There, behind the automatic glass doors, was astreetwear wonderland: limited-edition sneakers brightly displayed on a mechanicalconveyor belt, designer denim packed in pizza boxes and the newest arrivals from lusted-after brands like Crooks & Castles, The Hundreds and Foreign Family. There was even a bar area and a flat-screen TV where customers feet appear when trying on shoes. Soon, in-the-know hipsters were calling Attic “a streetwear store on steroids,” a description that Yang is much more satisfied with.
Welcome to the brotherhood.Strolling through Attic, a spacious, industrial-warehouse-like space located just across the street from Knott’s Berry Farm, it’s clear that it’s not like the others. In the business of streetwear, a clothing genre sometimes classified by ’80s pop colors, cartoon-like graphics, flashy vintage footwear and political symbolism, success usually relies on a strict business
formula of high-end pricing and limited distribution. As boutiques thrive on a cool-kids-only mentality, bigger is hardly ever better.
But James saw things differently. Having traveled to various streetwear meccas across the globe, he noted that cities like Tokyo offer giant concept stores filled with exclusive goods.”When people talk about them on the message boards, they’re like, ‘Wow, I wish therewere stores like that in the United States.’”
The story of Attic begins two years ago with a vision, a handshake and a blank check. James’ best friend from childhood is Justin Chon, an actor best known for his role as Tony on Nickelodeon’s “Just Jordan.” After graduating from the University of California, San Diego with a degree in political science, Yang started developing an online store for Justin’s father, Sang, the founder of the athletic footwear chain Mega Shoe Factory. At the same time, for extra cash, Yang was running his own online venture, trading high-end,limited-edition Nikes and other kicks. Sang noticed how much business James was getting on his own and saw an investment opportunity.
James, Justin and Sang joined forces - James and Justin had the streetwear knowledge and Sang had the connections and the pocketbook - and in August 2006, Attic was born in downtown San Diego. The store is located on the top floor of a three-story building and resembles an attic, hence the name.
Attic offered apparel, but the main attraction was the shoes: Lakers-edition Adidas, neon Reeboks, comic-book-print Pumas. Nikes, however, were the best sellers, with styles ranging from faux animal skin to holiday themes. To promote the store, James and the crew would host parties and midnight shoe releases. Customers would wander inside like it was an art show.
“People would come in half-intoxicated and be really excited about the shoes,” he says. “It was a great business model. There’s a mall next door, so why sell ordinary shoes? You’re in downtown. People park their cars to walk around and see something unique.”
Just three months after the San Diego opening, Attic opened its second location in a former crystal factory in Buena Park. Even James was shocked at its size. “When I saw it, I was like, ‘Oh, we’re going to split the store with another business?’ And Sang was like, ‘No, this is all for you.’ I’m just like, sh-t, what the hell am I going to do? I thought it was gonna be chill. I’d just sit at the counter and go on AIM. I was so overwhelmed. He was like, ‘This is going to be the flagship store. I can feel it.’”
The store is divided into sections: West Coast - with brands like Grn Apple Tree, FreshJive, Five Four and Playing For Keeps - and East Coast - Lemar and Dauley, Kilo
Goods, Upper Playground, Once Upon a Time In NY. There’s even a women’s area, which
is rare in what tends to be a boys-only club. To convince companies to sell their brands at Attic, James had to prove that the merchandise wouldn’t look lost in a dizzying array of products. He had to show companies how he maintains the integrity of each brand through displays. “It’s not like we stock thousands of pieces of one brand,” James says. “With a bigger store, you’re going to have more diversity. You don’t have to go to multiple stores to pick up the stuff you like. It’s everything on the streets in one.”
Derek Rhie, 26, is a regular at the Buena Park store. A self-described “Bloomingdales shopper,” he was never into streetwear until visiting Attic about a year ago. One of the things he loves is the customer service. “You get to go shopping at this cool place but you don’t feel like an outcast if you go in there,” says Rhie, who has gotten compliments, especially from females, on his sweaters, jeans, watches and hats. “The employees know the brands and they know the culture. They want to share that energy with the customers.”
Recently, James and Attic styled the members of the Kaba Modern dance crew, who were finalists on MTV’s “Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew.” He’s working on launching an online store and, in the future, he plans to open another location.

It’s all about thinking big.

When BIG and Pac died, no one knew where Hip Hop was going to go, in NaS' words, Hip Hop was Dead for those two years 96 & 97. They were two young, different rappers that stepped into the game to be great, not to make money. They spit every word, bar, hook, verse, and song, to near perfection. Every line created a metaphor that made you think and put it together. No one new who to look to after BIG and Pac died. Jay was leading the way for a while with hit after hit. But NaS wasn't the mainstream artist Jay was but stayed to his ill lyrics which people shunned away from and more towards the radio hits. This is where Hip Hop started to become more commercialized. This is what hurt Hip Hop. Jay adjusted to the need for hits, NaS didn't. When two New York rappers are striving to be great and see one another next to each other there's going to be that competitive nature to be best, thats all it was. How do rappers show they are better, murdering each other on wax. They conceived the Nas Jay Beef. Rap beefs were light before the Big & Pac beef. I am a big Kobe fan. The ZKII shoe was one of the best basketball shoe released in quite sometime. Maybe since the 2K4. Using the Free Technology, GENIUS! I don't know why they didn't introduce a free basketball shoe earlier. I bought both ZKII the Ultimates and Strengths. But to me the Finishers are the best. The one piece upper, just looks so clean. It was like taking a blazer and putting Nike Free as the outsole. So tonight I turn on the game, what do I see? KOBE WEARING 2K4's! What the hell?! Are these coming out or not? I mean the whole series never had a release date and were only exclusive to Foot Locker. Kenna is his name. Make Sure They See My Face is the album. He is from Virginia. High school classmate with the Super Producers The Neptunes.. And Chad, the better half of The Neptunes (in my opinion),did the whole album, with the exception of 2 tracks co-produced the other half of the Neptunes, Skateboard P. Kenna is really something different. The Neptunes bring out they're electronica sound with Kenna, kind of like N*E*RD*. I think this sound is much better than tey're hip-hop shit. Well P has done most of that shit, and Chads just been ghost for the past couple years. Its really cool and hopefully Kenna breaks through. Hype Williams directed the video, pretty sick video. Hype changed his style again.

Today is a great day for Hip-Hop. The Louis Vuitton Don vs. The Magic Stick. The Chi vs. NY. Mr. West vs. Mr. Jackson. Kanye West vs. 50 Cent. Two of the hottest MC's out right now (according to MTV). From what I've heard Graduation is the better album, but the album is very different from what we're used to hearing from Ye. You tend to zone out to this album, much like his "Big Brother" Jay-Z. But don't get me wrong Curtis is pretty good. People are underestimating it just because people are on the Kanye bandwagon. If you only had $10 and had to choose one, cop Graduation, its a classic, but don't sleep on Curtis, give it a chance, download it or something (legally of course ). We'll send the results as soon as we get them.
